When you make a donation to the Bakersfield Homeless Center, you are supporting the work of service providers and volunteers to help end the cycle of homelessness. Your contributions help pay for clothing, food, medical care and other items needed to provide shelter for those in need.

In-kind (non-monetary) donations and sponsorships are always appreciated at the BHC. Clothing, hygiene kits, school supplies, household items, furniture, appliances and more are accepted at our donation center.
Holiday and Winter Donation Ideas
Holiday Meal Items – Turkey, ham, stuffing, potatoes, canned or fresh vegetables, rolls, gravy, butter, pie and whipped cream, cookies, coffee, creamer and sugar.
Children – toys, costumes, block sets, craft kits, art supplies, and games
Teen Girls – Hair products, body wash sets, bracelets and necklaces, belts, purses, fun socks, slippers, make-up, and pillows.
Teen Boys – Hair products, body wash sets, wallets, watches, slippers, earbuds, flashlights, pocket video games, foot balls, and basketballs.
General – non-perishable food items, blankets, bedding, sweatshirts and jackets, hygiene items, diapers and wipes.

The BHC Donation Center is located at 1600 East Truxtun Avenue and is open Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am – 4:00pm.
